Footprints

Footprints

Verse 1

I had a dream
I saw the scenes
Of my life in the sky

The times I’ve had
Both good and bad
With you by my side

I had noticed footprints
Two sets in the sand
One set alone when I was low
I could not understand

Verse 2

You said you’d be
Right there with me
All the days of my life

Where then were you
When I went through
All those difficult times

I had noticed footprints
Two sets in the sand
One set alone when I was low
I could not understand

Bridge

I had noticed footprints
Two sets in the sand
One set alone when I was low
I could not understand

Verse 3

But you said no, you did not go
You were ever near
When times were hard
You carried me
So the footprints disappeared

I had noticed footprints
Two sets in the sand
One set alone when I was low
Now I understand
